In Descent, you're a recent law school graduate named Christine Porter. You start working for a big city law firm as an intern. This game's entire goal is for you to do such a great job as an intern that the law firm hires you. The problem is, you might have to compromise your ideals to land a job at the law firm. Your character is female, and as you may guess, you are asked to do things that most women would find offensive.

Choices don't matter, whatever you choose story progresses the same way. Therefore it's not a game it's a novel.

This is not true. There are choices and they impact the ending. What is true though is that the character of Eve is pushed onto you over and over again. Its possible to keep turning her down and eventually get rid of her but the developer clearly had an obsession with this character that really has nothing to do with the story. They really, really, really want you to hook up with Eve.

        Why is that a problem?

Played this a while ago and I still think about it sometimes randomly. I just want to say that I'm glad I tried it despite some of the negative reviews

Loved this game, it's a great slow burn and the legal stuff is so well done, it's immersive. Some more alternate path would be good, chap 5 especially is a bit dumb, maybe there could be ways to "descend" by being the villain instead of the victim if you choose too. But still very good, I hope they keep working on it.

Well, I feel cheated on, definitelly was not expecting a situation where you have to do X or it would be a game over and after the promising start it really is a bummer. The setting is good, and the characters were pretty interesting, but keeping your job should be a situation of: 1. being a hardworker, 2. being a manipulative person, 3. being a seductive person, that simple, no shenanigans of sleeping with A, B or C, for that reason I can't recommend.

Was intrigued to see this game updated, I thought it was concluded. Having quickly run through it again, I can't say for sure that I noticed any changes? Perhaps if I had made different choices I would have seen the new material. MAYBE a few images have been added, but if so they were minimal and few and made no difference to the story as I played it.

The cynical take on a law firm is entertaining. But as others have said, the 'choices' either lead to immediate firing or the same path of exploitation, which is fun but limited. There is no way to maintain your dignity and continue.

The general error is that a firm would jettison an obviously star-lawyer in favor of associates who are better at the politics or sleep with the partners. Believe me, the number one most important thing for a litigator is to be a difference maker. They will hold jobs as long as they want to: they might not become 'partners' but no firm will ever let them go!

One clear plot error: If you report to your boss that Eric gave you the stolen docs, and then refuse Dmitri's offer to cover it up for sex, you are fired for stealing the docs -- BUT no lawyer would believe that you would steal the docs, under your own login, then turn those docs into your bosses. I guess if you were really stupid and were just trying to sabotage Eric but that doesn't make much sense

No matter what you do it acts like you had sex with everybody and you get forced to accept Lisas deal also you cant get past the dinner with the old guy without sleeping with him the choices are pointless
